In this little corner of the world I get lost in creativity; a craft project, an article or just in thought.

Tutorial: Hot Air Balloon Embellishment

Once you create your own hot air balloon embellishment, you can instantly lift up anyone's spirit by simply adding it to a card front or a scrapbook page.  Create this hot air balloon in just minutes by making use out of your scrap papers. Different colors and patterns will contribute to your balloons uniqueness. The inspiration for this tutorial came from a challenge on Simon Says Stamp Blog.

 1.  The main part of the balloon was created by tracing around a spool of ribbon.
 2.   Cut another main circle then fold it in half. Without disturbing the fold. Trim off some of the     rounded side. This is your middle center piece.
 3.   Trace around your middle center piece, cut out. Fold this cut piece, trim around the curved edges without cutting any of the fold. This is your center piece.
 4.   Cut out a square for the basket. Punch two small decorative holes on top of basket.

 5.   Ink around the edges of each piece.
 6.   Place middle center piece on top of main circle; leaving about 1/4 inch showing of main circle at the top. This will make the middle piece slightly extend over the bottom edge.
 7.   Sit the center piece right in the middle of the middle center piece. The top and bottom points should evenly meet.
 8. Secure pieces together using paper glue or hot glue gun.

 9.   A small piece of burlap looks great on the bottom of the basket.

10.   Turn basket so the front is facing down.
11.   Cut 2 equal sizes of yarn or string.
12.   Glue them to the inside edges of the basket along the sides.

13.   Position the balloon over the basket (facing down).
14.   Secure the yarn ends to the inside sides of the balloon with glue gun as shown in picture.

15.   Attach a piece of lace going diagonally across the balloon.

16.   Knot the end of  two strips of lace.
17.   Cut bottom of strips to your desire.
18.   Glue the knot area to where the basket meets the yarn.

Now it's time to add character to a card or scrapbook page by using your awesome hot air balloon!

Easter Cross Decoration

There are so many DIY projects to make for Easter. You can find a swarm of awesome tutorials to make origami bunnies, wall decorations with bunnies, and different types of wreaths using plastic Easter eggs on the Internet. However, I have seen very few projects involving a cross.

This cross table decoration is very simple to make using dollar store items. Pool noodles, contact paper, and floral pieces combined can make this unique Easter decoration.

How to make a K-cup holder by recycling an oatmeal container

Do you own K-cup machine and still without a K-cup holder? You can change that situation without splurging or waiting in hopes that someone will buy you one for a future present.

In fact, your handmade K-cup holder will be the better than a store bought one, for two reasons. The first reason being is that not only does this dispenser hold K-cups but it also has a compartment to hold sugar packets. The other awesome thing about this holder is that it is totally customizable to your likes and needs!

The quote reads, "where ever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine." I crossed off the word "sunshine" and wrote in larger letters the word "coffee".

Hawaiian Party Theme - Cooler

Hawaiian Cooler Made from dollar store items

Whether you are going to a luau party or not this cooler will surely make any party more festive!

You will need: A cooler, a grass skirt, a straw skirt, a lei, green paper or
duct tape, and hot glue and glue gun.

If you use green paper, you will need to figure out how many inches is each side.

You can chose to cover bottom portion of cooler with green duct tape, in this case you don't have to measure anything.

Using green just makes cooler look nicer under the grass

From the bottom of the grass skirt cut off several pieces of the grass strand to desired length.

To figure out the the length you need, simply hold the grass next to the cooler so that the bottom of the grass is flush with the bottom of the cooler.

Here I cut the pieces to be about 1/2 the height of the cooler.

Glue grass strands on cooler trying to keep them as even as possible.

Continue putting green grass all around the cooler .

Cover the top edges of the grass strands with a 2-3 inch wide ribbon all around.

Next cut and glue the strands of straw all around the cooler. Glue top edges to top edge of cooler.

Take apart the Lei necklace.

Attach the individual flowers on separately. Glue the flowers on the cover of the cooler until the actual cover is no longer to be seen.

Place a few flowers scattered around the sides of the cooler.

I have not seen these in stores so you will have a pretty unique cooler to keep your drinks cold, should make one or two to add to your party decor!

Easter Egg Rings Made Out Of Caulk

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

These Easter Egg Rings are as much as a delight to wear and look at as they are to create! Boys and girls alike will be thrilled to wear these rings to show their "egg-cite-ment" for the Easter holiday! These rings are the perfect size to place inside a plastic egg to give as a special surprise!

These rings are made of caulk and food coloring! Isn't that so cool!

The egg part of the ring is made from caulk! Loctite Polyseamseal Painter's Express Caulk to be specific, but any basic caulk will do the trick I'm sure!

The colors on the eggs comes from food coloring! Regular colors and neon colors were used here!

Additional materials that were used here are:  silver rings, caulk gun, q-tips, wax paper, and a product by Inkssentials called Glossy Accents.

Duct Tape Shelf

Look what your creative hands can do with the packaging from a large party package of plates and napkins!

From the moment I unwrapped the Superbowl plate set I knew the packaging was going to be turned into something good. I have seen this type of plate set for other occasions, however these were brought to our home for a Superbowl get together so I am not sure what the price was paid for the plates. The duct tape is about $4 a roll and even less with a coupon from a local craft store! Close to half the roll of tape was used to  make this shelf.
With a roll of duct tape, patience, and a little bit of time this cardboard structure was turned into an awesome shelf that is sturdy and attractive!

Please pardon the clarity of the following pictures. Many photos were taken and believe it or not these were the best ones.
