Hawaiian Cooler Made from dollar store items
Whether you are going to a luau party or not this cooler will surely make any party more festive!
If you use green paper, you will need to figure out how many inches is each side. You can chose to cover bottom portion of cooler with green duct tape, in this case you don't have to measure anything. Using green just makes cooler look nicer under the grass From the bottom of the grass skirt cut off several pieces of the grass strand to desired length. To figure out the the length you need, simply hold the grass next to the cooler so that the bottom of the grass is flush with the bottom of the cooler. Here I cut the pieces to be about 1/2 the height of the cooler. Glue grass strands on cooler trying to keep them as even as possible. Continue putting green grass all around the cooler . Cover the top edges of the grass strands with a 2-3 inch wide ribbon all around. Next cut and glue the strands of straw all around the cooler. Glue top edges to top edge of cooler. Take apart the Lei necklace. Attach the individual flowers on separately. Glue the flowers on the cover of the cooler until the actual cover is no longer to be seen. Place a few flowers scattered around the sides of the cooler. I have not seen these in stores so you will have a pretty unique cooler to keep your drinks cold, should make one or two to add to your party decor!
