In this little corner of the world I get lost in creativity; a craft project, an article or just in thought.

Easter Egg Rings Made Out Of Caulk

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

These Easter Egg Rings are as much as a delight to wear and look at as they are to create! Boys and girls alike will be thrilled to wear these rings to show their "egg-cite-ment" for the Easter holiday! These rings are the perfect size to place inside a plastic egg to give as a special surprise!

These rings are made of caulk and food coloring! Isn't that so cool!

The egg part of the ring is made from caulk! Loctite Polyseamseal Painter's Express Caulk to be specific, but any basic caulk will do the trick I'm sure!

The colors on the eggs comes from food coloring! Regular colors and neon colors were used here!

Additional materials that were used here are:  silver rings, caulk gun, q-tips, wax paper, and a product by Inkssentials called Glossy Accents.

To begin this project, lay wax paper down on your protected surface. With the tube of caulk inside the caulk gun, squeeze out caulk into desired shapes.

To make egg shapes, squeeze out caulk to form an oval shape with one end being wide and the other end being slightly more narrow than it's opposite side. The wider of the two ends will be the bottom of the egg.

Allow the caulk shapes to dry. When they are dry, the egg shapes will mostly lift up easily from the wax paper. The bottom middle center may have a slight pulling issue. Gently lift egg then from the opposite side, slowly being careful not to destroy the egg shape.

Use Q-tips with food coloring to apply color to the egg shapes in desired patterns. It is recommended to use a new q-tip with each color change.
once your eggs are decorated allow them to dry.

Coat the front of the eggs with Glossy accents by Inkssentials. While wet, this formula will appear cloudy.

After the Glossy accents is dry the eggs will have a beautiful shiny finish!

Before turning the eggs over be absolutely sure the eggs are thoroughly dry.
Leaving the back of the eggs uncolored or colored is totally up to you.
Coloring the backs does give the rings a nicer finished appearance.

Secure a ring to the back of the egg by placing the ring on the Glossy accents when wet and holding it in place until it is set. Another way to add the ring is to use you favorite metal or all purpose quick glue.
